Project Description:
This indoor amusement park project, located on the second floor of a large shopping complex in Tehran, presented unique design challenges and opportunities. The presence of a central atrium (void) with an escalator passage provided both spatial limitations and a potential focal point for visual attraction.
The design approach aimed to utilize the atrium as a spatial and experiential element that draws visitors’ attention from the lower levels, encouraging them to explore the upper floor where the amusement park is located.
The plan was divided into three main zones: two high-ceiling areas for adventure and soft-play activities distributed across two vertical levels, and a central area called “The Island”—the heart of the playground. Children embark on a dynamic journey through playful routes filled with excitement, eventually discovering “The Island,” a world of adventure and energy at the core of the space.
The design incorporated Soft Play, Adventure Park, Foam Structures, and Toddler Zones, allowing children to release physical energy safely while recreating the nostalgic sense of outdoor street play in a secure indoor environment.
One of the project’s key challenges was designing a safe and controlled entrance to ensure both excitement and security for children and families.
